We've Built Our Reputation on Excellence in Shipping and Logistics, With a Constant Focus on Serving Our Customers.
Our business has grown over the last 150 years to help businesses like yours get dependable, excellent service from shipper to receiver. Service is the cornerstone of our business!
We started out hauling grain off our farm to the Milwaukee & Chicago markets. Then we began hauling grain for other farmers to the same market, plus bringing back cattle feed and other commodities to central Wisconsin.
As time went on, we were picking up more and more customers, and our business was growing. Our coverage area expanded to include all 48 contiguous states and eventually, Canada. We were hauling a variety of products in our hopper bottoms including corn meal, soybean meal, sodium bicarbonate, grain, and an endless list of feed and food grade products.
Some of our customers that we were serving with hopper bottoms also had needs for pneumatic trailers. So to best serve them, we started a pneumatic division which has become our largest venture and main focus. We also have vacuum pneumatics for plastics transport or silo evacuation/vacuum jobs.
Today, we operate 70 late model tractors, 112 pneumatic trailers, and 40 hopper bottoms all powered by the most trusted and professional drivers in the industry.
We are headquartered in New Holstein, Wisconsin with an 81,000 square foot maintenance shop where we self perform most of our own truck and trailer maintenance.
We also have a 2,700 square foot wash bay with full time wash technicians. We wash all our tractors and trailers when they are in the area. Our bay is able to perform certified food grade washouts for pneumatic and hopper bottom trailers.
John Pfister (seated) and his wife Carolina Kolbe established Pfister Farms in 1855 with a 110 acre family farm on County Highway T in Charlestown, Wisconsin. John had emigrated from Bavaria, Germany in 1843 and moved to Charlestown in 1852. John Pfister's son, Lawrence (left) and his wife, Victoria took over the farm until their son, Hilmer and his wife Eileen bought it in 1947.
Hilmer and Eileen Pfister were able to purchase an additional farm adjacent to the original farm in 1948. They continued farming the land and milking cows. their son, Donald and his wife Lynn formed a partnership with them in 1977, milking between 60-100 cows and eventually purchased the farming operation in 1993.
Donald and Lynn grew the operation to include over 500 beef cattle in the early 90's, an expanded milking herd, and erected a grain dryer and storage bins to facilitate their growing cash cropping operation. The first truck, a 1985 model 362 Peterbilt was purchased in 1989 along with a hopper bottom trailer.
Shortly after Lynn passed away in 2007, Donald and Lynn's son, Mike came back to the business and started running the trucking company in 2008. Eventually rebranding to form Pfister Bulk Transport and started the pneumatic division in 2106. Donald and Mike still operate the cash cropping business together. Mike is fifth generation and pictured with his family.
